Editorial Review:
With their fourth album, thrash heroes Static-X head back to the future of metal as Start A War marks the return of original producer Ulrich Wild and original guitarist Koichi Fukuda, both of whom were instrumental in the success of the band's platinum debut Wisconsin Death Trip. Unrelenting and uncompromising, Static-X elevate their bone-crunching hard rock to a new level of earth-scorching destruction.
Start a War/X-Rated Reviews:
A Total Industrial Nu Metal Meltdown!
2009-11-12 - Whatever you want to categorize this kind of music as, it rocks hard! Static-X is without a doubt one of my most favorite bands of all time. They consistently deliver fantastic songs filled with blistering riffs, thrashing beats, wailing vocals, and catchy little techno bits thrown in here and there for good measure. And this album delivers all that and more in spades. Standout tracks are I'm The One, Start a War, Dirthouse, Skinnyman, Set It Off, Otsego Amigo, and My Damnation. Great stuff. Nobody does this kind of music better than Static-X!
Oddly disappointed
2007-08-31 - Im not sure why, but Static-X seems to have lost something along with Tripp Eisen. Koichi Fukuda did well in the first album, Wisconsin Death Trip, he seems to have lost touch with the workings of this particular band. The music is all screaming and banging away at instruments, with no real talent involved. While this is acceptable of an up-and-coming band, for an established name like Static-X it is a bit of a let-down.
WOW!
2007-05-07 - Great music! If your metal moves you then this is for you! loud, heavy and will get your heart pumping!
pick this one up!
Solid 4
2006-11-07 - Back to basics Static! Groovy, riff based metal. Songs avg. 3 minutes, so the cd plugs away.. Original Guitarist back. Sounds great and is a welcome return to form after sub-par Shadow Zone cd.cheers....
Another great album from Static-X!!!
2006-07-04 - How do they do it?! I DONT KNOW! BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT ITS GREAT!!!
The follow up to 2003's full-length album is a great effort and you'll love it. Start A War is heavier that Shadow Zone, but not quite as heavy as Machine. I love this album for the fact that you can tell theres soul in it. Less Industrial sounds on this one, but they're still there.
