Description of My Name Is Nobody [IMPORT]:
My Name is Nobody is a spoof of spaghetti Westerns, but it's also a legitimate, highly regarded entry in the genre. Its pedigree is purebred, as it was executive produced by the maestro of spaghetti Westerns, Sergio Leone, as a personal farewell to the genre that he helped to create. It's a transitional film, cheekily acknowledging the impact of The Wild Bunch and Sam Peckinpah (whose name is seen on a gravestone in one scene) and the popularity of Terence Hill, whose comedic "Trinity" films represented the last gasp of the once-glorious spaghetti Western. All of these elements are beautifully combined in the amusing tale of Nobody (Hill), an ambitious young gunman in 1899 who idolizes a legendary gunslinger Jack Beauregard, played by Henry Fonda in his final Western (and his second for Leone, after the classic Once Upon a Time in the West). Before Beauregard can retire in peace, Nobody sets up a final showdown of epic proportions, and the great Ennio Morricone enhances the abundance of memorable scenes with one of his most playfully inventive scores (including a comical use of Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries"). Tonino Valerii fully deserved his director's credit, but Leone also made significant contributions (including the opening scene), and the result is a delightful and surprisingly resonant film that Steven Spielberg later called his favorite Leone production. It's easy to see why: Like many of Spielberg's films, My Name is Nobody qualifies as both art and entertainment. --Jeff Shannon

My Name Is Nobody [IMPORT] Reviews:
The wild west was never this wild 5 Star Review
2009-12-06 - The wild west was never this wild, but it`s a film that is great fun. Half western, half western spoof. A fun romp in an old west
that never was with Fonda`s character playing straight man to Hill`s character with no name. The film spoofs gunfighters, The Wild
Bunch, and the cinamatic version of the old west in general.
It all works pretty well. It doesn`t press too hard on the funny gags, or try to be a serious western either. Who would have thought
that a light hearted film about gunfighters and a band of murderous theives could work this well, but it does.

My Name is Nobody 5 Star Review
2009-09-10 - it is one of the few films that show the Acomo Pueblo
    in New Mexico.

    Dissatisfied 1 Star Review
2009-09-09 - Have never received my DVD though the money was taken straight away - at this stage I will be seeking my money back from Amazon.

If I had to pick an all time favorite... 5 Star Review
2009-09-05 - My dad sat me down to watch My Name is Nobody when I was ten years old (mid thirties now) - it was my favorite movie then, and it is still one of my favorites now. This is a special movie. At it's heart it is about having a hero, and it takes me back to a time when my dad was my hero.

My Name is Nobody 4 Star Review
2009-06-14 - This is a great spaghetti western and shouldn't be missed. There is some crude language in parts and a crude gesture at the end that might surprise others who, like myself, saw this on television 20 or more years ago. The t.v. version had been "cleaned up" a bit it seems. For me the language and gesture spoiled what had been a whole-hearted enjoyment but it is still worth seeing. You might want to watch it without younger kids first so you can decide how you feel about the above items.
