Editorial Review:
British girl groups tend to offer fare that's a lot more pop and less R&B-based (as well as a lot less sexually aggressive) than their U.S. equivalents, and the Sugababes (16-year-olds Keisha Buchanan, Siobhan Donaghy, and Mutya Buena) follow that rule of thumb. The fast-paced opener "Overload" is fab but also deceiving, as most of the album then ambles along at a leisurely pace, alternating between ballads and lighthearted medium-paced tempos. The 'babes are least convincing on sub-Destiny's Child numbers like "Same Old Story," but overall the songs are easy-going and sweet natured. Still, the girls may want to speed things up a bit more in the future because when they do--as on "Overload" and "Real Thing," which recycles all manners of pop clichés in a deliciously breezy way--they rule the teen-pop roost. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

One Touch Reviews:
Great Album 5 Star Review
2005-05-11 - Love or hate The Sugababes, you can't deny that they have originality. The songs on 'One Touch' are songs that only The Sugababes could have created, except for the fact that the beat on 'Overload' songs a bit like the beat on The Jackson Five's 'Can You Feel It'. That's about it.

I really love this album, because it was pretty experimental and a good introduction to a group that would become one of the biggest and coolest girl bands of the 21st century in the UK.

Odd that they were dropped after this album..

Oh well, they came back with 'Freak Like Me', a brilliant cover of a Gary Numan cover.

9/10 - Worth Listening To

so much for new popopstars 2 Star Review
2004-06-25 - i hope those sugababes read this. no offense but u guys suck...ur music sux....it has tom much of a tchno-preppy remix...get with the century....it's call the HIP HOP ERA!!!!...u dont use techno remixes unless u really wanna screw up ur own careers...and i sing a whole lot better....they wud do alot betta if they split up for like a couple of minutes during a song...like one sings and the other backups..jeez...and i mean all this i am saying...and ur lucky i am evn giving u a 2 star...and ur betta than britney at least...nikZ

Sub-Destiny's Child?! 5 Star Review
2003-07-06 - I don't know where the sub-DC comment came from - as far as I can tell the only similarities is both bands feature three girls. Even if you choose to force a comparison, I think Sugababes win hands down. DC make slick pop songs, that don't touch the sophistication these then-16 year-olds muster. Anyone who knows anything about the voice can see the harmonies featured in the songs are far from usual, and often very beautiful. The songwriting (mostly Siobhans, I think) is way beyond what teenagers should be able to achieve, and certainly beyond most other current pop.

Overload is in no way deceptive of the standard of the album - like on that single, the album is full of inovative beats and amazing vocals. Shame about the American cover-art, because it certainly doesn't match the utter classiness within.

Wake up and smell the talent, America!

Sugafied! 4 Star Review
2003-01-15 - A superb blend of house, Euro-pop, and R&B. Songs such as "Overload" and "Just let it go" are quite catchy. "Real Thing" is the song that makes you want to dance. The CD ends smoothly with "Run For Cover", also a catchy dance song. "One Touch" is a must-have for all Euro-pop addicts!

Hmm... i'm not sure about this one. 3 Star Review
2002-07-16 - This album is somewhat good, and some songs here are very good, however- there are some songs that ,well,...! And another minus is that one of the trio has this irretating voice (i think the one with the red hair)- plus they all don't have that much of a voice. however i can understand that because they were about 16 in that time. However, the positive side of this album is, that it's musically a very good album! a lot of great melodies here, and the music is nice comparing to other pop music today....
so, for the standouts? o.k, all the 5 first songs are nice, and real thing is also good, and run for cover is a realy good song! the other songs are quite bad...
so- for this album, i don't know- buy it if you love them or there singles because it is worth a listen, but one thing for sure! now with the red haired girl out of the picture and with hiedy they seem to reach success with their great single "freak like me!" i definatlly wait for their next album comes out somewhere near the 26th of augost. this one will be the album to buy!
