CAN HORTON PROVE THAT THE WHOS EXIST? INCLUDES 'THIDWICK THEBIG-HEARTED MOOSE'.

Description of Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who (Deluxe Edition):
Chuck Jones was chief animator on this lively adaptation of the famous book by Dr. Seuss. The story of a friendly elephant named Horton who discovers--deep inside a daisy--a tiny city called Whoville with tiny, intelligent residents--this film (fleshed out a bit from the source) is strong on character and has striking, appealing visuals. The little folks of Whoville, with their natural air of aristocracy, are a kick, and when they come to see Horton as a hero for his democratic view of all life big and small, the effect is quite touching. This should be a real treat for kids already familiar with the book, but just might inspire those who haven't read it to pick it up. --Tom Keogh

Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who (Deluxe Edition) Reviews:
"Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" Blu-ray 5 Star Review
2009-10-14 - You know it's an unusually good week when Warner releases on Blu-ray three thowback classics, two of which involve a certain Dr. Seuss and one of which involves a certain Willy Wonka, and when Disney releases on Blu-ray "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." You could probably beat that, but you'd likely faint from the effort. First up is 1970's "Horton Hear's a Who," which neatly captures the bizarre quirkiness Seuss created in this timeless, 1954 book. That book might have been created by Seuss as a reaction to McCarthyism (true!), but its strengths nevertheless exist in imagination, which director Chuck Jones, working from Seuss' script, captured beautifully. Unrated. Grade: A

    Classic 4 Star Review
2009-05-16 - This was a classic movie even though the new one was better but it was good

Great movie plus super extras 5 Star Review
2009-04-07 - Great video for my kindergarten class during Dr Suess week in March; the extra footage made it an exceptional buy

Horton Hears a Who 5 Star Review
2009-02-16 - Very funny movie, I prefer this older 1970's version of "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who" because of Hans Conrad's character voice talent. The extras of Dr Seuss' short films never get outdated. The Warner Bros. cartoon about Horton hatching an egg was the funniest and is worth checking out.

Should be rated PG!!! 1 Star Review
2009-01-26 - Beware: In the last movie clip 'Horton hatches the Egg' a fish puts a pistol to his head and shoots himself. I could not believe my eyes! My five year old daughter was terrified and kept asking me "Why did the fish kill himself, Mommy?' Well, what am I supposed to answer???
Unacceptable violence in a little kids movie.
