Editorial Review:
With Rage Against the Machine disbanded, System of a Down ascend to the political aggro-rock throne, and with Steal This Album, the Los Angeles-based quartet prove themselves worthy to wear the crown. A play on the late activist Abbie Hoffman’s Steal This Book, the album consists of 16 System songs from the mid-1990s through 2001. The band stresses the songs are not "B-sides or outtakes"; in fact, they clearly show System at their apex. These smart, varied songs feature Serj's frenetic, staccato, Jello Biafra-like phrasing atop the band's edgy, commanding, metal-meets-punk base. From the funny, frantic "Chic 'N' Stu," to "F**k the System," "A.D.D. (American Dream Disorder)," and "Boom!" System keep listeners guessing with discomfiting time changes that match up with Serj's incendiary lyrics. In keeping with their creative, fan-oriented approach, System are releasing four limited runs of the CD, each version featuring artwork from a different band member. This is not escapist rock. It's an intense and eye-opening aural history lesson you can mosh to. --Katherine Turman

Steal This Album Reviews:
16 Tracks of Fun 5 Star Review
2009-07-17 - I'm not a metal fan but I do like System of a Down simply because they're unique. This album really demonstrates what the aim of alternative metal is.

The first song called Chic'n'Stu really had me interested because of the comedy mixed in with the serious music. I really appreciated how the band used only the minimum amount of synth and desired a more raw sound. The Armenian influence is always present and is something I really like. Each song is unique and has its place. The songs Pictures and Streamline demonstrated some different fun rhythms.

You will enjoy this album!

system of a down 1 Star Review
2009-01-23 - Condition was NOT as stated. Stated condition as used like new. I have never in my life seen a CD so scratched. If I had the time/transporation I would return this. I RECOMMMEND NEVER BUYING A PRODUCT FROM THIS SELLER.

A very good album considering they're leftovers 4 Star Review
2008-04-22 - Ok the title might give you a wrong impression. They were leftover from toxcicity but dont dismiss this as a cash in for junk songs. They are all very good rivaling other system of a down songs. Many were left over becuase of the less significant lyrics than toxcicity's theme would have really allowed. More joke-y in some cases but still giving the good stuff you should expect from system of a down.

F××k you pig. 5 Star Review
2008-03-22 - I met the drummer of this band at a comic convention with a friend around the time l picked this album up. It was icing on the cake because I have been a fan since the self-titled record. I dont care if this is a collection of b-sides I treat it as an album. Stand out tracks: Mr.Jack, Ego-brain. Under Toxicity this is their best release yet.

Rock out!!!!!!!! 5 Star Review
2008-02-29 - This is a very good album, which I say that about all of their albums, but SOAD always does good. My Favorite Song in this one is Ego Brain. I would reckomend this album to anyone who loves rock and if you like SOAD, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, GET THE ALBUM!!!!
