Editorial Review:
Taproot returns to the scene with Blue-Sky Research, their melodic yet hard-hitting follow-up to the critically acclaimed Welcome. Studio wiz Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Kiss, Korn) pushed the band to write over 80 songs for this record. The hard work has paid off handsomely, as Blue-Sky Research delivers not only on every song, but as a cohesive album.
Blue-Sky Research Reviews:
Best Taproot Album All Together
2009-05-03 - I've listened to Taproot in the past when a friend introduced me to songs like "I", "Again and Again", and "Poem". Then I saw this album in the store at target when it first came out. I asked my mom to get me it because the cover looked cool and I liked them in the past. I brought it home and was amazed how much I liked every single song. When you buy an album, usually there are only one or two good songs on it, and the rest are basically there to fill up the cd and sound exactly the same. With this CD, it has variety and every single song is awesome. It has some of the metal along with some very nice acoustic songs. I like acoustic but I am not being biased in this review. If you like Taproot before this album, check it out. I like when bands mix up their music because it makes you interested and makes them not sound exactly the same. My favorite band is Blindside, and they've changed so much over the years and I think this is where Taproot is heading. Give this album a listen, you won't regret it.
Taproot Blue-Sky Research
2009-04-19 - I liked the album, but that doesn't really help you. As with any other online music purchase, take advantage of the previews and listen to part of all the songs before you decide to buy it.
Taproot finally arrives
2007-11-20 - Prior to the release of this album, I had been an intrested observer of Taproot. Like many promising bands, they had substantial moments of greatness that had been tarnished by concluding that screaming for much of the disc conveys more feeling than actual singing. Here, we finally find Taproot realizing their potential - crunchy guitars, sonorous vocals (just like a "blue sky"), and loads of musicallity. The lead singer is actually able to use his real voice and conveys loads of feeling. We have finally encountered an album with "roots" deep enough to leave a lasting impression that the previous two releases only pointed towards and hinted at, but never realized. I loved this album, and my bet is, you will too.
Awesome CD
2007-08-05 - This review is a quote from my son who purchased the CD: "Firmly enjoyed the music, thumbs up"
Blue-Sky Research by Taproot
2006-11-30 - This is a band about to be reborn, the amount of evolution in the members is remarkable. The chemistry overall is perfect with some of the songs being heart broken to even darker songs then ever heard befroe from them. I purchased this CD on release date from a local vender (In no way would i wait for this CD to ship). I just think it needs to be expressed how this album makes an impact, and i know the boys in the band are going to stick it out even tho they are being dropped their label, and are stuck on larger van for small tours, but with all this new world to them, im sure there will be more anger and determination to come from them. Amazing CD, from an amazing band.
