Editorial Review:
It's bizarre at first to hear Mexican diva Thalia's biggest pop hits adorned with blaring horns and oompah beats, but she ultimately pulls it off on Banda Thalia Grandes Exitos. Thalia has enlisted a solid lineup of musicians and producers for the project, but this is hardly banda music in its purest form. Cumbia and pop rhythms regularly find their way into many of the tracks. The slick collection revisits--and reimagines--Thalia's most successful singles since joining EMI Latin in 1995, making for an uneven but interesting project. Tracks such as the already festive "Amor a la Mexicana" and "Por Amor" work well within the traditional banda setting, while ballads "Quiero Hacerte el Amor" and "Entre el Mar y una Estrella" drag a bit and are best showcased in their original arrangements. "Arrasando," the title track off Thalia's stellar 2000 album, is sapped of its energy, but the inclusion of traditional gems "Cuco Pena" and "La Revancha" is a genuine treat. Through it all, Thalia remains an authoritative--and irresistible--presence. --Joey Guerra

Con Banda Grandes Exitos Reviews:
Fun place where pop meets banda 5 Star Review
2008-07-12 - I have heard samples of other Thalia albums, but none ever excited me like this one. I am just not that into the pop music she usually does.
This cd was my introduction to her. The music is big and fun. Sometimes fast and sometimes midtempo. All the songs have wonderful harmonies and melodies.
This album is like an answer to someone's wish for traditional banda style music to be "oomphed" up pop-wise.
Very fun disc.

Good compilation with Pop-Banda twist 5 Star Review

This was the first Thalia album I ever got. Overall, Thalia gives solid vocal proformances on every track. I like most of the songs, but the best ballad is certainly "Gracias A Adios." The weakest ballad (musically not lyrically) is "La Revancha", which would have been much better if were a mid paced slightly dramatic Adult Contemporary song. Though the lyrics are good, this version just falls flat as a Pop/Banda song. Aside from that there are many good moments to please you. Thalia's smooth, slightly soulful, sensuous and sexy charisma shines through in her very pleasant sounding 5-octive voice. "Arrasando" is quite interesting and entertaining. Thalia raps surprisingly well and very fast in the verses then breaks into the chorus with fabulous singing vocals! Out of the faster songs, the Emilio mixes of "Piel Morena" and "Amor A La Mexicana" I like some more over the orginals because it adds more thickness to the tracks. My other favs are "Noches Sin Luna", "Maria La Del Barrio", "Por Amor" and "Arrasando."

The worst I ever hear from her! 1 Star Review
2005-07-14 - It was like a pain in the ass listennint one of these terrible songs with Banda.
First: The "Banda" music is for the very very low class.
Second: The lyrics sound forced to fit in that kind of music.
Third: Is really repetitive.

After the Love CD, Everrything that Thalia is doing is worst!

Her best yet! 5 Star Review
2004-05-07 - I have to say that this is one of Thalia's best albums yet.
It was very creative of her to do her greatest hits in the genre of Banda. To take that risk as a pop artist and to pull it off for the most part is something that Thalia must be applauded for.
I also agree with that other reviewer who said that maybe it would've been better for her to have done an actual album of musica banda with NEW songs instead of re-doing her old ones.
She showed a lot of potential of being able to pull that off on the only 2 new songs on the album called cuco pena and la revancha.

All in all, a worthwhile best of CD to check out where Thalia shows she's got potential to evolve from her poppy sounds.

Not normal greates hits, It's something Special... 5 Star Review
2004-04-07 - Thalia made great work with this album. She changed her hits into something new! Hip-hopish ARRASANDO, Dance AMOR A"LA MEXICANA, or Ballad QUIERO HACERTE EL AMOR are now hmm... SO DIFFERENT!!! Very Latin, very mexican, very BANDA. It's not another GRATES HITS complication, it's album with "new old songs". Great Cd for Thalia, and Banbda style fans:)
