Forget Destiny's Child; Mexican diva Thalia has a lock on independent-woman anthems. Her self-titled, eighth album (and fourth for EMI Latin) is ripe with girl-power ditties, from the ska-tinged "En la Fiesta Mando Y" to "A Quien le Importa," a devil-may-care ode to individuality. It's familiar ground for Thalia, who explored similar themes on 1997's Amor a la Mexicana and 1999's Arrasando. This new set is not as instantly addictive, but it showcases Thalia's continued evolution as an artist. "La Loca" is a smorgasbord of rock, cumbia, and rap rhythms, while the glittering "Vueltas en el Aire" is destined to fill dance floors. Mrs. Tommy Mottola also teams with the Kumbia Kings on "Tu y Yo" and enlists Marc Anthony as backup on "The Mexican." The inevitable crossover is also foreshadowed on the yearning ballad "Closer to You" and a cover of Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me 'Round," which finds Thalia purring like a sex kitten. If she keeps it up, we'll all soon be a slave for a new kind of diva. --Joey Guerra

2006-10-21 - Un álbum de primera!
Entre las mejores canciones de esta CD pertenecen "Heridas en el Alma" e "Y seguir"
También "Vueltas En El Aire" me gusta muchísimo! Es probablemente mi canción de amor favorito de la guapa Mexicana Thalia: "Hacerte el amor es ir y volver - Es encender la llama dentro de la piel..." Caramba!
Lo único que no me gusta tanto son sus canciones en ingles como por ejemplo "The Mexican 2002". Claro que quiere vender sus CD en los Estados Unidos con su gran mercado de hispanohablantes y especialmente con la gran comunidad Mexicana en California. Pero mejor que ella no olvide sus otros aficionados en otros partes del mundo, especialmente en Latino América.
En una palabra: Un álbum muy bien aun no excepcional. 4 estrellas son adecuadas. Claro que recomiendo "Thalia" de Thalia para todos los aficionados del latín pop.

2005-08-08 - FOR ME THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM EVER RECORDED! THE PERFECT MUSIC&ONCE AGAIN THALIA'S SUPER PERFROMENCES MAKE THAT AN EXCELLENT PIECE OF WORK!! ALL THE SONGS ARE GREAT!!! I HAVE SPENT HOURS LISTENING TO THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN (NEVER BORED)... THIS IS THE BEST LATIN ALBUM HAVE EVER LISTENED 2.... HOPE THAT THALIA WILL CONTINUE MAKING SUCH TERRIFIC ALBUMS. WELL DONE FOR A WORK THAT DESERVES THE RESPECT AND APLLAUSE FROM ALL OF US!!!!

2005-07-31 - I love this cd by Thalia. I think this is one of her best to date. I especially like the songs..no me ensenaste and A quien le Importa. A true CD -Well done!
