Description of The Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause:
How about a new villain and a dash of It's a Wonderful Life to spice up the third installment of the popular Tim Allen holiday franchise? Under the onslaught of another Christmas season, Santa Claus/Scott Calvin (Allen) is feeling even more pressure because Mrs. Claus (Elizabeth Mitchell, reprising her role from The Santa Clause 2) is expecting a little Claus and also longing for the company of some "tall people." So Scott agrees to let her parents (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) visit as long as they believe that they're really in Canada rather than at the North Pole. Further complicating matters is a visit by Scott's ex-wife (Wendy Crewson), her husband (Judge Reinhold), and their daughter, Lucy (Liliana Mumy). Enter the bad boy of the Council of Legendary Figures, Jack Frost (Martin Short), who's supremely jealous of the figures who have their own holidays, especially Santa. So he launches a plan to sabotage the toy factory and compel Scott to invoke the little-known Escape Clause and wish he'd never become Santa. The resulting evocation of a classic Christmas movie, It's a Wonderful Life, is seasoned with a splash of Back to the Future when Scott rewinds 12 years (has it really been that long?) to when it all began. Though neither sequel has matched the charm of the original Santa Clause, both have been safe, reliable family fare. (All ages: some crude humor) --David Horiuchi

The Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause Reviews:
...will we wait 15 more years for "Son of Clause" or "Teen Clause"??? 4 Star Review
2009-12-11 - Reading some of these reviews beforehand I wasn't expecting a very good movie, BUT was PLEASANTLY surprised that this movie was pretty darn funny (esp. Jack Frost's rendition of "North Pole, North Pole". I suppose IF this is to be the last "Santa Clause" movie the ending was anti-climatic to the series, BUT with the birth of a 'baby Claus' one sees some new possibilities for Disney... can we expect to see Zac Efron as a teen son-of-Santa anytime soon (before he grows out of his 'too cute for words' stage?)

Love It- Great Sequel 5 Star Review
2009-12-09 - This is a good movie for the family... it has enough carryover from the other two movies, but still has an original storyline that stands in its own right. My kids love it, and so does my husband...

not as great as the first one! 2 Star Review
    2009-10-25 -
Perhaps, I shouldn't have waste my time watching this movie. I thought it would be funny based on the preview. When I went to watch this movie on Saturday, I did not find one scene funny at all. The only funny stuff in this movie was the bloopers. Overall, the movie just sucks! It wasn't that great as the first one. The first one was more funnier. The second one was good too, but this one was just not that great. It was okay and all but it just wasn't that funny. I personally think that I should have seen Borat instead of this movie. At least, I would have something to laugh about! I miss the 90s! They used to have such good movies that were much more funnier! If anyone want to see a good Christmas movie, I would recommend Home Alone 1,2, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Santa Clause 1,2.

    Hilarious movie 5 Star Review
2009-08-21 - The comedy between Tim Allen & Martin Short cannot be matched. So hilarious, great for the kids and the parents. We watch it over and over, even when it's not christmas season lol. Great movie, definitely worth the money
