I've Got Friends That Do Reviews:
"I've Got Friends That Do"
2009-09-01 - All I can say, is WOW!!! Tim McGraw, has once again, out done himself!! I think everyone who decides they want to judge another person, for whatever reason, when they have absolutely no idea, what a person has gone through, is may currently be going through, in their life! This song, has means alot to me, for so many reasons. Who is ANYONE to judge another person??? EXACTLY!! No-one is perfect...NO-ONE!! And, while one person may want to "assume" the actions of another are "wrong", by their "standards", there very well could be something THAT same person who's doin' the judging, is doin', him/herself, that is not the "right" way in someone else's eyes..... This song is definitley deep, and makes you stop and think....."Heaven knows, it could've been me....."!!! "IT" could very easily be "ANY" one of us....and who can say that one day, it "won't be"??!! So, before you decide to judge another, take a look at your own life, and the way you're "living".....I'm pretty sure you'll find some things that need changin'!!
Another Tim McGraw song that really speaks to the life of the common man
2008-06-23 - I first heard this song in a Cold Case episode tonight on ABC. I was intrigued by the lyrics, because at this point in my life, I am undergoing vast changes, and am in cooperation with many others who share common experiences. The lyrics of "I've got Friends That do" remind me that, while I haven't experienced certain tragedies that I could have experienced along the way (yet), I certainly know many people who have experienced them. Believing, as I do, that "experience is the best teacher... as long as it's someone else's experience", I draw strength for my journey from the stories of my comrades, because their stories of "what it was like" help me to keep perspective on what I'm trying to achieve in my life, and to hopefully avoid some of the consequences that I so narrowly escaped. This song, for me, stands out as an anthem for where I am in life at this time. I highly recommend it for anyone searching for answers to Life's challenges. Like a couple of other Tim McGraw songs over the years, this song touches the core of what it is to be human, and offers encouragement as we trudge the road of this pilgrim life. Five stars, but I'd give it 10 if that option existed!!
