Lobster & Scrimp Reviews:
Jay-Z is only mediocre
2003-03-08 - While Jay-Z does have his poignant phrases oon this track, there's no way on God's green earth that Jay-Z could "keep this track real". He's a joke now, Nas taught him the lesson he needed to learn and he's just trying to make himself seem like a winner. Timbaland, Dr. Dre, The Neptunes (Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo), Missy Elliot and some others are the true rulers of beats. Jay-Z is in love with this Jus Blaze character that uses the same sounds and beat on every song!! Sure Timbaland may reuse some sounds and may make similar beats but not on every track!! Even Dre and the Neptunes do some recycling but their stuff sounds way more high class. It takes more than expensive equipment to make the hottest beats, it takes a creative mind and some producers just don't have it. All I really want to say is those who have talent wil last in the end. Those who fake talent will fail. . .
