  • Editorial Review:
Here's the incredible follow-up to the smash hit phenomenon SCREAM! Away at college, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell -- SCREAM, WILD THINGS) thought she'd finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her ... until a copycat killer begins acting out a real-life sequel! Now, as history eerily repeats itself, ambitious reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox -- SCREAM, SCREAM 3), deputy Dewey (David Arquette -- SCREAM, SCREAM 3), and other SCREAM survivors find themselves trapped in a terrifyingly clever plotline where no one is safe -- or beyond suspicion! Director Wes Craven (SCREAM) and hit-making writer Kevin Williamson (SCREAM, I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER) team up once again and deliver the big screen's hippest, coolest, edgiest thrill-ride ever!

Description of Scream 2 (Dimension Collector's Series):
To repeat the phenomenal success of their collaboration on 1996's hit thriller Scream, horror maven Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson did a fair amount of recycling (same movie, slightly different situations), but this sequel comes surprisingly close to matching its popular predecessor. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Jamie Kennedy, and Liev Schreiber reprise their roles from Scream, and this time they're caught in a new cycle of murders near a college campus, just as the slasher movie Stab (based on the events from Scream) is about to make its local premiere. That's the setup for another frantic guessing game involving a number of possible suspects, and the mystery is fatally complicated by the reappearance of the eerily masked killer from the first film. Who's under the mask? Craven and Williamson set up a roller-coaster series of wild plot twists and deadly encounters, and the snappy dialogue once again caters to those in the know about fright flicks, sequels, and all the movie rules that do (and sometimes don't) apply to the escalating body count. Featuring several scenes that will have you biting your nails and gripping your seat, this movie's an exception to the rule--a sequel that beats the odds to satisfy its target audience. Everyone else--you've been warned! --Jeff Shannon

Scream 2 (Dimension Collector's Series) Reviews:
    Great Purchase 5 Star Review
2008-09-07 - Got the movie in excellent condition. A little later than expected but Amazon took care of the confusion right away. Thanks Amazon

Part two of the trilogy. 4 Star Review
2008-06-25 - Scream 2 is probably my least favorite of the series.
    I don't know why, I just like parts 1 and 3 better.
    It's positive moments?
The script is great, introducing two new killers who you would never guess.
The usual cast is back from part one.
The acting and directing is fine, I just didn't think it was very scary or suspenseful.
    What didn't I like?
Maybe it's because the majority of the cast is at that annoying college age?
    It's a good continuation of part 1.
I recommend this for horror fans and fans of the original.
I just don't think it's as good as part one.

A nice follow up. 3 Star Review
2008-03-31 - Scream 2 continues the path of mayhem leading to an ending that is somewhat predictable. Even though it's more of a rehash from the first one. It's a rehash done right. I liked the way this one worked out.

Scream 2 utilizes the "whodunit" pretty well. But I don't think it was done better than the first one. The cast was a pretty nice pick but I never thought Jada Pinketts and Omar Epps talents would have been used so miserably. But Jada's death scene made more of an impact then everyone elses.

The chase scenes where just as good as the first one. But just like the first. Scream just isn't a good pure horror movie. Despite not being scary in the slightest. Scream 2 is still a good, well thought out, and entertaining sequel. I don't really get bored of them.

Keep On Screaming 4 Star Review
2007-12-27 - Scream 2 is on a par to its predecessor. Its as scary as part one and dialouge is more witty. The cast members are also eye candies to viewers. Even I was actually quite surprised when I noticed Rebecca Gayheart, Heather Graham, Jada Pinkett and Sarah Michelle Gellar have small roles in the movie.

The story continues as another killing strikes again after the horrific events in part one. All the 3 main characters have grown to a more serious and the writers put a more in depth personality rather than one-dimensional. Sidney (Neve Campbell) have grown more stronger this time. She's no more the "I-Am-Helpless" lady. Gale (Courtney Cox) seems more sensible and less sacarstic to get whatever she wants. Infact, she outgrown herself and her character are more in depth. Same goes for Dewey (David Arquette) no longer the idiotic hobo but a macho man.

Some of the guest roles are interesting too but rather too short. Sarah Michelle Gellar is on example who own her death scene. Its the 2nd best chase sequences in the Scream series and Sarah's 2nd best in all of her horror movies she's in (1st being I Know What You Did Last Summer) (1st being Rose McGowan death scene in Part one and Drew Barrymore's gutted scene). Jada Pinkett smith opening scene was a jaw dropper as well.

This movie is well crafted just like the 1st and the story line doesn't gets confusing for viewers. The writer's just keep it simple and stick to where part 1 left off and also twisting some characters which you didn't expect them to be what they are.

This is one of the most entertaining horror flicks of the year 1998-2000.
Scream series is definitely original, lots of slapsticks and lots of eye candies for viewers to google at and have them playing a guessing game of who lives and who dies.

    Totally 70s 2 Star Review
2007-12-26 - This is the sequel to the classic 1996 hit that parodied the cliches of slasher horror films. A typical updated slasher film, yet the brilliance lies in parodying that which it is, a chessey slasher film on a low budget. David Arqutte is a Clive Barker look alike. I gave it two stars because my tastes have changed since I was the geek rooting on the killer. At one dollar, you can't go wrong for cheap slasher flicks, except it lacks the drive in aura of Halloween or even the classic icons of Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street. As a straight slasher film series, this would be great, instead it's poking fun at the slasher film cliches. A joke it is.
