Editorial Review:
Tom Selleck stars as wealthy Chicago broker Jon Aldrich, a loving husband and father who must rush to Florida when his elderly mother becomes ill. But when his senile father (Don Ameche – winner of an Oscar® in 1986 for Best Actor In A Supporting Role in COCOON) burns down their house, Jon is forced to bring his parents home with him. Now nothing in his life — including his money-grubbing sister (Christine Ebersole) or an FBI sting that has frozen all his finances — can compare to the daily dangers of caring for his mother and father. Still, things are about to get much, much worse. Could Jon’s final solution be a series of deadly ‘accidents’ that will take care of his folks for good? Michael Murphy (PRIVATE PARTS), Wendy Crewson (THE SANTA CLAUSE) Robert Pastorelli (MURPHY BROWN) and Anne Jackson co- star in this hilarious black comedy from screenwriter Robert Klane and director Ted Kotcheff, the creators of WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S.

Classic Comedy
2009-06-12 - This is a hilarious movie, it literally takes you places you didn't think you'd ever go - it is that good. Tom Selleck is even more handsome (if that is possible) without the famous 'tache, I cannot believe how good that man looks even with all the added on medical scaffolding in the movie. One part that had me doubled up was the part in the ambulance where Tom (already well banged up and bruised from various other scrapes) is making sure he has all of his toes, fingers, ears, eyes, & well, you'll just have to watch the movie ... it's a scene that you know he has to get round to counting those particular parts of his anatomy and when he does it's so-o- funny.
Don Ameche is classic as always and so are the rest of this well observed cast, it is really good to enjoy the laughs, spills, humour and mayhem caused by the old parents, the bitchy sister and bratty children. See it please, you must if you value your sense of humour, it is a classic.

2009-05-23 - Should be a comedy classic! One of the funniest movies ever produced out of Hollywood, and a comment on our society and families in America. Tom Selleck is great, and Don Ameche is a Hollywood icon.
Two Thumbs Way Up!!!
