Anything from Tori Amos is special
2001-10-27 - I recently caught Tori Amos live in concert and fell in love with her cover of Leonard Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat". That was my main reason I acquired "Glory of the 80's" single. I haven't heard "Glory of the 80s" in a long time and I almost forgot just how good the song is. This is one of my favorite songs on "To Venus and Back". After hearing "Famous Blue Raincoat" live in person, I knew I had heard that song before but not recently. The melodies are just incredible. Tori's singing is at her best with this cover. Her delicate vocals sends chills down my spine as I listened to this song over and over again. Her cover of "Famous Blue Raincoat" outdoes her cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" off the "Hey Jupiter"EP which wasn't an easy feat to do. When I saw Tori perform "Famous Blue Raincoat" live, I was just taken by the aura of this song. And having this song on cd relieves that moment when Tori performed "Famous Blue Raincoat". I have been listening to this song over and over again. I will never get tired of it. "Twinkle" is another great song that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to.

2001-09-25 - I already have a properly labelled copy of the "Glory of the 80's" single, but I wanted the "baker baker/winter" edition also. My single came labelled "baker baker/winter" but had "famous blue raincoat" (fabulous song by the way) and "twinkle". I plan to try and order it again, and hopefully this time I will be successful.

Big mistake
2000-05-25 - Info: Uk releases of the single 'Glory of the 80s' were 2 cd's. Cd 2 was printed with the same track listing as CD 1, and it has the same cover, only with a pink-violet tinted picture. Oh yeah... and the track listing of what should have been the same live tracks of the US release of '1,000 oceans'. No "special" cd, a mistake = collector stuff. (like 'I'll remember' by Madonna, a live track -In this Life- was listed as 'Why's it So Hard'. At least the german edition).

My CD is special too!
2000-05-04 - I had bought the "Glory.." that was supposed to have "Baker Baker (live)" and "Winter (live)" on it.The songs that were actually on it were "Famous Blue Raincoat (live)" and "Twinkle (live)" (as well as "Glory...). Maybe our CD's got switched before labeling and packaging... *lol*

But having what I consider a rarity makes this disc even more special. 5 stars all the way.

I think my copy is special...
1999-12-25 - I was thrilled beyond belief to receive the CD import single, "Glory of the 80s". However, I think I somehow got a SPECIAL copy; mine has "Baker, Baker" and "winter", even though the case says "Blue Raincoat" and "Twinkle"! Has anyone else had the same experience? Nonetheless, "Glory of the 80s" is a fab song, and the version of "Winter" brought me to my teary little knees.
