Editorial Review:
119 pages of FBI Files & police files contected to rapper Tupac Sahkur, archived on CD-ROM.
FBI FILES
99 pages of FBI files. The FBI files are composed of 35 pages of memos and 50 pages of clippings of newspaper, magazine, and online website articles. The memos chiefly cover an investigation concenring allegations of death threats and a protection extortion scheme by individauls linked to the Jewish Defense League (JDL), aganist Tupac Shakur and rapper Eric Wright, AKA Eazy-E. The clippings from before and after the death of Tupac Shakur cover his music carrer, commentary about his life, rivalery with Sean "Puffy" Combs, legal troubles, and his murder. The clippings that the FBI chose to keep copies of are important, because they contain information the buraeu feels is important for someone to be briefed on, who is new to the case.
COMPTON POLICE DEPARTMENT LEGAL FILLINGS
Also included on the disc are 20 pages of a search warrant affidavit from September 1996. The affividavit is in suport of warrants for a gang sweep in Compton. Much of the allegations detailed in the affidavit comes from unnamed confidiental informants. Compton Police Department Detective Tim Brennan states in the affifdavit that the murder of Tupac Shakur caused increasesed tension and several shootings between Los Angeles area street gangs.
