Editorial Review:
One of the most popular, thrill-packed, franchises of all time is back with even more action and more Autobots and Decepticons! In the highly anticipated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. Joining the mission to product humankind is Optimus Prime, who forms an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle.
Description of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Two-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]:
Pure. Popcorn. Entertainment. That's an exact classification of director Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Think of Transformers 1 on crack. In other words, this sequel took all of the extreme elements that made fans love the first movie and increased them exponentially. The action is nonstop, with battles and explosions from start to finish. The camera (without any subtlety) exploits Megan Fox's hotness to the max. As if she weren't enough, a new sex kitten (Isabel Lucas) is thrown into the equation. Shia LaBeouf is as charismatic as ever, and fills the starring role with ease. And then there's the humor. Sam's parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White)provided some semi-raunchy laugh-out-loud moments in the first movie, but now they take it to the next level. Sometimes it seems like they are trying a little too hard, but it is still hilarious.
As far as the “plot” goes, the writers didn't waste much time--it's really just a context for the giant-robot death matches and dramatic slow-mo sequences. The movie kicks off two years later where the Autobots have formed an alliance with the U.S. government, creating an elite team led by Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel), in an effort to snuff out any remaining Decepticons that show up. The bad guys keep coming, and it turns out that a much more menacing force than Megatron is out there--and it is looking for something on Earth that is tied to the very origin of the Transformers race. Fans of the franchise will be delighted by the addition of many new robot characters (there are well over 40 in the sequel, versus only 13 in the first). The second Transformers has shaped up to be one of the worst reviewed and most successful movies of all time. This strange pairing is really just an indication that this movie has one purpose: to entertain. The creators didn't want to waste time bogging down the action and drama with substance--which was arguably a good decision. --Jordan Thompson

Very good
2009-12-29 - This movie has some great action sequences and I liked this better than the first movie. The acting is a little cheesy at some points as can be expected but this movie is all about the action and effects.
Totally awesome
2009-12-29 - This is what blu-ray was meant for. The movie is great. Amazon did a great job with shipping as well
Great movie, great price!
2009-12-28 - This is a great movie for those interested in special effects, humor, and brave hearts. I would have given it five stars. However, the cursing and stero-typed "races" were offensive and not needed to make this a solid movie.
No complaints here
2009-12-28 - I have no complaints about this movie, either with it's packaging or the actual movie itself. I'd heard rumbles about this not being a very good sequel, but I found it to be a great follow up to the original.
The blu ray itself was packaged well, didn't have any of the disc rattling around inside when I opened it up, as happens often. I highly recommend this to anyone.
Atleast I liked it...
2009-12-28 - I really dont understand all the negativity around this movie. I will say i didnt see the first one and i won free tixs to see this one and i LOVED it. I grew up watching Power Rangers, Beast Wars, and all the other good scifi childrens shows of the 1990's. I still watch Gundun, gurren lagann (Kamina FTW!) and other Japanese robot amine. This movie reminded me alot of those child-hood shows and the japanese shows i mentioned, sure its not the best explaned plot (like i heared megaton was put on the ocean floor cause they can't stand the cold) yet other robots go down and save him (IDK maybe they upgraded there circuitry?)All i know is that me and my 58 year old mother loved this flim, the twins we're funny, the part with sam's mom eatting a pot browne was funny too. I really had a laugh and it didn't feel that it was almost 2 hours long. I was kind of upset that bee didn't talk, but its all good. The CGI robot-battles where kick ass and the way they moved really made you think that they where really there.
I understand everyone has diffrent options and some people seem to be picking this movie apart. It was made for entertainment and and excape into a fantasy so who cares if the plot isn't 100% right, or they're racal crap in it. ITS FAKE! and as a writer myself you do want to tell a good story, but you also dont want to bore your reader.
I say get the movie its only $30 bucks! Plus who doesn't love talking robots? :)
