Editorial Review:
At last, what every nervous bride and anxious mother has been waiting for -- a simple, concise wedding guide for the men in the wedding. No more wondering if all that careful planning and preparation will be upset because the men didn't know what to do! This easy to follow guide is not a strict book of etiquette but rather a fun to read, handy reference for all of the men in the wedding party.
While countless resources exist to help the Bride plan her wedding day and the Bridesmaids are generally all too eager to help, the men in the wedding are often forgotten -- until now. This complete wedding guidebook provides a quick, easy explanation of what is typically expected of the men participating in a wedding, whether it is big or small, casual or formal. With valuable tips for before, during, and after the wedding, the Best Man and Ushers no longer need to feel that they let the Groom down, simply because they didn't know what was expected or what more they could have done.
Along with pointers on the bachelor party, clothing, travel, expenses, toasts, and rehearsals, there is also a week-by-week checklist of activities and preparations to help make everything run smoothly.
I Need To Do What?! A Wedding Guide for the Groom, Best Man, & Ushers Reviews:
Avoid wasting your money
2007-02-11 - Poorly done-- Presented like a junior high school report-- cheaply bound-- lacks organization-- Definitely amateurish.
Not at all what I expected.
2000-12-07 - I bought this book in hopes that it would help my fiance understand that there is a lot of work that goes into planning a wedding and that his participation would be extremely helpful. This book was not at all what I was looking for. In fact, I hid it from him once I received it - for fear he might actually READ it and think that it WAS what was expected of him.
The book is geared towards the other men in the bridal party. It rarely addresses the groom.
I suppose that a groom might find some insight in this book, but his bride would probably be disappointed in the things that the book tells him.
If you are a bride looking for a way to help your fiance through the planning of your wedding, I recommend sitting him down in a chair and explaining it to him yourself. This book will not help you. If you are a groom who is interested in helping with the wedding, or is curious about what is expected of you, I recommend asking your bride. This book will not help you.
I do not recommend this book.
reader from Houston
2000-12-03 - i bought this book for my fiance hopping it would begin to clear up some of his questions. When we read the book it was more for the best man and groomsmen. It answers none of the questions for the groom. It would make a great gift to the males in your party. If you are looking for a book for the groom this is not the book.
I Need To Do What?
2000-02-04 - This book reads like a high school term paper (i.e. 50 pages of courier font). For example, "If a bachelor party is planned, it can be held at the Groom's house, in a club, hotel, restaurant, or possibly in a back room of a nightclub . . . ." Real helpful. I doubt that anyone would pay more than a couple of dollars for this book in a bookstore.
A Must Have for Groom and Wedding Party!
1999-08-03 - Needless to say, this book was a real lifesaver.
As the Best Man, I was at a loss as to the appropriate protocol of helping the Groom get through the most important day of his life. Thanks to "I Need To Do What", all my questions were answered in a straight forward, easy to read, layout.
I highly recommend!!!
