Editorial Review:
What do five, mischievous kids in a small country town do when their parents leave and fail to return? They don't sit around and cry. They have the time of their lives, and if that just happens to include a few run-ins with the police, then that's all the more fun. And when life gets a little boring in the country, there's only one thing left for them to do - they head to the big city of Atlanta.
The Hunts Reviews:
Bebe's Kids
2009-11-16 - The Hunts by Natasha Usher portrays the modern day Bebe's Kids. There are five Hunt children. The oldest and only girl is Victoria. She was named after her mom's favorite soap opera star, Victoria Rowell. The four boys are Luther (of course named after Luther Vandross), DougRoss (named after George Clooney's character on ER), Tyger (named after Tiger Woods), and Tyler (you guessed it...named after Tyler Perry).
They are ages seven to 13; which means they have been terrorizing Acon, Georgia for the last 13 years. Their parents just up and left them alone. And, now the teachers, judges, and sheriff are left to deal with them. Luther, who has a love for basketball, decides that he must make it to Atlanta for the Hawks vs Celtics playoffs. Who knows when the Hawks will be in the playoffs again? The sheriff decides that Acon needs a break from the Hunts and sends them off to the big city.
Usher brilliantly describes the city of Atlanta. The mayhem that occurs with the Hunts is down right hilarious. The Hunts is easy to understand and enjoyable to read. I think young adults will enjoy this book. I will be recommending this book to some of the girls that I mentor.

BooksRPeachy
2008-10-28 - A very funny story that gives whole new meaning to sibling rivalry, but reminds us what "being a family" can do for even the most dysfunctional of people. A great read for 10+!
Fun Read for Children Of All Ages
2008-10-26 - I bought this book for my ten year old, and we read it together. What a wonderful, laugh filled experience. Kudos to Ms. Usher for a great children's book!
