Vanessa Williams - Greatest Hits: The First Ten Years Reviews:
ok but needs work 3 Star Review
2009-08-11 - this cd was pretty good but it is too short for me and some of the sides did not sound right too me.

Reintroducing Vanessa 4 Star Review
2009-01-21 - It is honestly very sad that so many great R&B sonbirds from the 90's have really been forgotten about on the radio. that sadly has shown to be the case with Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton and many other great singers. That too has been said for Vanessa Williams. While she has shown a strong comeback as a actress on the ABC series Ugly betty, there are those who do want her to get back out there as a singer once again. She definitely has shown that as a great role model, and a elequent vocalist over the years. While her last album 2005's Everlasting Love was somberly overshadowed in record sales, and the dissapointments occured with the loss of her marriages to basketball star Rick Fox and Ramon Harvey in the 90's, she still has the strength to shine when you see her perform. That also is said well with a exclusive MP3 album that reintroduces Vanessa's elegant voice to a whole new legion of fans.

Vanessa Williams 1998 Greatest Hits album: The First Ten Years is finally available as a MP3 album on Amazon. But unlike other music services like Rhapsody or Napster, the entire album is here to download, without missing a track from the heart, or having to shelve out extra money to buy the CD as a whole to get the missing songs. The collection reintroduces Vanessa big eras of great albums from her Mercury days in the 80's and the 90's. The songs have all been remastered very well, and showcase just why Vanessa Williams is a great R&B songbird. The collection includes a lot of Vanessa's big tracks including The Sweetest Days, Betcha Never, as well as her biggest hits including the #1 smashes Dreamin', Saved The Best For Last, and her Oscar-winning elequence from Colors Of The Wind from the 1995 Disney film Pochahantas. The collection also also includes some of her distinctive soundtrack songs here like Love Is with Brian McKnight from beverly Hills 90210, and the overlooked Where Do We Go From Here from her 1996 movie Eraser with Arnold Schwarzenneger. While the collection is handled well, there were a few of Vanessa's great R&B songs that were unfortunately overlooked. I was a bit saddened that her dance songs like The Way That You Love, Happiness and Work To Do, could've been highlighted on the album.

Nevertheless, Vanessa Williams Greatest Hits: The First Ten Years is still a very strong hits collection that is worth buying, whether you're a hard core fan of her standards, or if you're a big fan of her work on Ugly Betty as Wildemina. To really be honest with you, it is so good to hear her songs again, and with all that is going on with radio today, it is so nice to sit back and listen to a beautiful songbird that Vanessa Williams made for herself. I just hope that she does come out with something new soon, but in the meantime you'll know that collection is definitely saved the best for last.

vanessa williams greatest hits 5 Star Review
2009-01-03 - Vanessa Williams was one of my favorite R&B singers in the 1980s and 1990s. I pretty much enjoyed a lot of her ballads. This CD is a collection of her hits from that time period.

vanessa williams 5 Star Review
2008-10-09 - vanessa williams changed history in the 1980's, as the first black women to be crowned miss america.

since then she has been performing in shows, movies and music. i have her greatest hits, the first ten years cd at home. it is one of my favorite albums since the spice girls came out in the 1990's.

my favorite song is save the best for last, and the sweetest days. she does a phenomenal job as whilhelmina slater on ugly betty.

hope she returns to ac soon.

A voice which stirs emotion 5 Star Review
2008-04-02 - Vanessa Williams is one of the most underrated singers of the past several years. Her voice stirs emotions and soothes the soul. This collection of songs is excellent and while today's generation may "hate" her character on Ugly Betty, they should listen to this album of her hits and discover why so many of us love her music.
