You Are Everything Track Listing: 1. You Are Everything 2. You Are Everything 3. You Are Everything 4. You Are Everything
You Are Everything Reviews: Terrible song and the same is with teh mixes. 2005-09-03 - I found nothing interesting or inspiring in the song and the mixes. Waste of money. Save it for sth better. Junior Mix is so baaad. I can't believe people buy this. Please don't.
"You Are Everything" and the remixes are almost everything... 2005-07-13 - Vanessa covers The Stylistics hit "You Are Everything" well and it is different than the other covers of this song as this cover is almost upbeat and makes the listener want to snap their fingers along while listening to this track. It is a shame that Lava Records did not include the album/radio version of the song on the single, but that is one the two small missteps with this single. All of the remixes are excellent except the Ford remix as I don't think it fits Williams vocals too well. Otherwise the remixes are excellent as Junior Vasquez decides not too deviate too much from the original mid-tempo feel of the song and the Mr. Mig remix feels like it would be at home in a Mitsubishi car commercial (which is not a bad thing at all.)
Vanessa's Club Mixes 2005-05-28 - I love the Mr. Mig Retro Breaks Mix - pure perfection.
The Ford Club Mix (132 BPM) is simple and clean. Highlights of this mix include a unique phasing of the chorus "you are everything" and the keyboards or strings in the background give a great warm feeling when playing the mix.
The Junior Vasquez Mirrorball Club Mix (124 BPM): Junior has definitely nailed the mix - he has really enhanced the original version and showcased the strength of the song -- which is Vanessa's vocal and the chorus "you are everything". I would describe the mix as smooth and unadorned. The simplicity of this mix is a refreshing welcome to the saturated synth-laden mixes we have been hearing recently. I guess hence the "Mirrorball" name which really emphasizes the fact that the song was originally recorded back in the 1970's.
Junior's mix is the one you will probably here when you're at the club -
Vanessa's return to the dancefloors!!! 2005-04-19 - This is Vanessa Williams first dance track since "The Way That You Love" from her Sweetest Days collection over a decade ago. This is from her new remake cd and this is the first commercial track issued. This is the remake of the classic by The Stylistics and showcases Vanessa's soulful/jazz vocals. The remixes are very different from one another. Pop house to break beat 80's to flat out trance to ambient are all the mixes. My favorite mix is the Mr. Mig mix-- if you like the mixes by Johnny Budz for Darren Hayes and The Roc Project then this mix is for you.
Tracks:
1- Junior Vasquez Mirrorball Club Mix (8:23)-- pop house mix-- not like his usual tribal house mixes. The one I guess most US dj's are playing.
2- Mr. Mig Retro Breaks Mix (7:26)-- best mix because it suits the vocals the best.
3- Ford Club Mix (6:20)-- lovely Euro sounding trance mix. The most uptempo of the mixes.
4- Junior's Chill Out Mix (5:45)-- similar to the same kind of mix for the latest Dannii Minogue track "You Won't Forget About Me". I guess Ambient is on the way back.
An excellent return to the dance floors for Vanessa. Currently in the top 25 of the club charts. Excellent.
DANCE MIXES--junior vasquez, mr. mig and ford!!! 2005-03-16 - Vanessa Williams covers the oft covered Stylistics hit "You Are Everything," ans some big names give it a remix. The original cut of the song is not on this single, it's all dance mixes. track listing is:
1) Junior Vasquez Mirrorball Club Mix (8:23)...junior keeps with the tone of the song and gives us a soothing, soft house mix, not one of his usual stomping dance numbers.
2) Mr. Mig Retro breaks mix (7;26)--once again, the mix is mellow and works with Vanessa's vocal track, but this one's breakbeat.
3) Ford's Club Mix (6:20)--Ford totally stomps. dark bass, thumping beats, haunting synths, effected vocals. it works. This is a pretty hot number.
4) Junior's Chill Out Mix (5:45) no beat or even a rhythm track. Just various synth lines accompanying the voice, which has been played around with electronically.
Get this single. it's a new hot one from Vanessa, who hasn't had a dance single released in a while
