Description of Old School (Widescreen Unrated Edition):
When three thirtysomething friends with woman troubles (Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, and Vince Vaughn) decide to form a fraternity, it's supposedly to save Wilson from losing his house, which the nearby college is trying to claim for academic purposes. But really, Ferrell and Vaughn are desperate to return to the reckless, feckless days of beer bongs and hot chicks, and they drag Wilson along with them as they throw themselves into gathering frat pledges of all ages. Old School could have been just another string of bad jokes hanging on a flimsy plot, but the script and the cast have a jovial energy and just enough grounding in reality--at least, up until the obligatory beat-the-system ending, but by that point you'll forgive the excesses of this silly, cheerful, and frequently funny movie. Featuring Jeremy Piven and Juliette Lewis, with cameos by Snoop Dog, Andy Dick, and others. --Bret Fetzer

Old School (Widescreen Unrated Edition) Reviews:
At First I Hated It, But Then... 5 Star Review
2008-08-12 - ...I watched it a second time. And a third time. And I continue to watch it, and it seemingly becomes funnier each time.

It's easy to find fault with "Old School": Will Ferrel's character doesn't have a job, as far as I can tell. Mitch-a-pa-looza, a giant house party for Luke Wilson, occurs on a Friday night...yet both Luke Wilson and his high school hook-up are at work and school the next day as if it's a weekday. The homages to "Fight Club" border on rip-offs. And the list goes on.

However, it doesn't matter. Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughan, and Will Ferrel are a comedic dream team. The laughs never stop, so the plot inconsistencies and lack of originality will never really bother you (unless you let them). Check your brain at the door and watch "Old School."

    Good Stuff 4 Star Review
2008-07-28 - Some nice deleted scenes. Everyone knows this is a great movie. Perfect price for it and I loved the bonus materials.

    Funny Flick 5 Star Review
2008-05-22 - This movie is very funny! if you enjoy the like of Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn, then this movie is made for YOU!!

    Loveit!!! 5 Star Review
2008-03-29 - Since I'm not only a fraternity man, but I help start the chapter at my school, I totally relate to humor in this film. We never did anything as extreme as what is presented in the film, but that's what Hollywood does. They take things that are kinda interesting, beef them up, and entertain you for an hour and a half.
Will Ferrell is great, Vince Vaughn is hilarious, and Luke Wilson's subtle wit shines.
This is a must have for any movie collection!!!

Mildly entertaining and funny 3 Star Review
2008-01-14 - I had heard that this movie was funny from several friends and also read some reviews about how hilarious this movie is. While there were several hilarious scenes -- Will Ferrell streaking through the streets of town to name one -- the overall laughs were not as many and somewhat trite. Of the three, Ferrell was the funniest followed by Vaughn. I found Luke Wilson's character rather boring and the plot with Ellen Pompeo was all to predictable. If you're looking for light, occassionally funny fare, you could do worse. However, I thought "Wedding Crasher's" and "Talladega Nights" were far funnier movies.
