Editorial Review:
It’s been three years since Emery Simms was wrongfully imprisoned for a murder he didn’t commit. Emery’s best friend Brandon (Blakemore) and ex-wife Connie (Fox) are now married, running a successful restaurant and nightclub in Atlanta. Their lives change dramatically, however, when Simms is killed in prison and new evidence emerges as to Brandon’s role in the framing of his friend. When Emery’s long-estranged brother Donovan (White) enters the picture, he becomes determined to unearth the explosive truth behind his brother’s downfall. New motives, deceptions and lies are revealed, but the closer Donovan gets, the deeper he’ll get himself into trouble, and the greater the possibility of lying in a grave, right next to his brother.
Motives 2 - Retribution Reviews:
OK
2009-02-24 - This DVD came quickly... but it wasn't as good as Motives 1 was, it was drawn out and long..
Motives 2
2008-09-23 - Excellent movie. I did not think it could be better than Motives 1, but they out did themselves again. This is a series of movies you must purchase.
Sucked
2008-08-28 - After seeing the first Motives which was sooo good I was excited to see Motives 2. However I was dissappointed. This film is so boring to me. And the fact that Emory's brother shows out of nowhere and is able solve the crime is a little unrealistic. Despite this drabby film I did enjoy Sean Blakemore(Brandon Collier) and Mel Jackson's performance. This film just didn't do it for me.
more complex than the first
2008-05-05 - I didn't completely understand everything in this film until I watched it twice. It's considerably more complex than Motives. It's full of intrigue and I like how the story progresses. Very intelligently gone and classy. The acting was fair, but some of the scenes were badly made (particularly the fighting scences). I don't want to see a sequel to this but would love to see more films of this type (African American erotic thrillers).
Motives 2 but No More Sequel's
2008-03-21 - I just received my copy of this movie 2 weeks ago and i was not dissapointed. The fist motives was an excellent "str8 to dvd black film", but i knew a 2nd one was coming. I was just telling one of my guy friends that i knew that Vivica was going to make sure someone that was "phine" played the roll of Shemar Moore's brother because he couldn't be related to someone that's ugly. I love how the actress that played the replacement singer in Dreamgirls was in this movie, she is really moving on up. I also wanted to add that I'm glad that I seen some familiar faces such as Guy Torry and Miss Vivica Foxx. I would finally like to end with i think that this movie sequence should stop at this level. I dont think there should be a 3rd one of these because Brian White is too phine to be seen twice
