Slip of the tongue (Deluxe Edition) - Whitesnake 5 Star Review
2009-08-02 - Just like the Slide it in Deluxe Edition, this is really a treat for all the fans!! It's an unbelievable big difference between this remix and the original album from 1989. It's like you hear the album for the very first time but you know the songs.... It's simply great!

Great Re-mastering, extra material not so great... 3 Star Review
2009-07-30 - I will start off by saying in 1990, Whitesnake was the first concert I saw w/out adult supervision. Me and my frinds all went alone, and we all loved the Slip of the Tongue cassette (no CD's back then for us!!). I was totally excited when I saw this come out...with live footage of some of my favorite songs from the album...

The re-mastering is really well done. It sounds great. The problem is I realized some of these songs dont hold up so well 20 years later. There are some fillers...althought there are still some great songs...Slip of the Tongue, Sailing Ships, Judgement Day, all great songs...Now Your Gone, Slow Poke Music, and even Kittens Got Claws, not so much. BUT, still a great CD.

Now, the extras...The live stuff on the CD is decent (with the exception of the horrid opening line Coverdale says before Slip of the Tongue "Here's one For Ya..."...makes me laugh every time I hear it). The DVD I have the biggest problem with. It has 3 videos, but some of the live performances dont have Steve Vai...One is an acoustic "Sailing Ships" w/ I think Adrian Vandenberg, "Judgemant Day" from like 2008, and the 2 songs w/ Vai is way over produced, dosent even look like a concert footage. Different camera styles, some slow motion, kinda poor quality, no shots of the crowd at all. Not really something I would re-watch. Too bad, I was totally looking forward to seeing Live Whitesnake w/ Vai.

Overall, if you like the original and want a much better sounding CD, buy this. If just buying for the extra's, I would save my $$.

Slipping The Tounge Again... 5 Star Review
2009-07-08 - Whitesnake had just come off the major mainstream success of there 1987 album and were riding the storm of fame and glory. It was no easy task for them to follow-up with a as good or better album. They Brought In Super Guitar Hero/Legend: "Steve Vai" which just made things a whole lot wicked, as he ended up recording all guitar parts on the album, which really gives the album a spark that the 1987 album didn't have (as great as that album was)

As For The Songs: they're all fantastic, none of them miss, they're all straight shooters and are filled with tons (and i mean tons) of ear candy, courtesy of "Steve Vai". The Band sounds tight and i never believed the others who said that Steve didn't fit...although i understand there argument.

The Remastering On Here Is A Major, Major Contribution To Making The Record Shine Like Never Before, The Package Is Awesome Too. This Is A Must Have For Any Whitesnake Or "Steve Vai" Fan...I've Found Myself Listening To This Remaster Every Single Day In It's Entirety...Simply Brilliant.

Be Careful! 5 Star Review
2009-07-01 - The first run of this deluxe edition has problems. The CD will not track in any of the 4 players I own. Had to return it.
