Description of Bad Boys II (Widescreen Edition):
No one goes to a movie directed by Michael Bay for delicacy and grace; you go because Michael Bay (Armageddon, The Rock) knows how to make your bones rattle during a high-speed chase when a car flips over, spins through the air, and smacks another car with a visceral crunch. Bad Boys II fulfills this expectation and then some. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence may be mere puppets amid all this burning rubber and shrieking metal, but they actually provide a human core to the endless cascade of car wrecks and gunfights. Their easy rapport makes their personal problems--a running joke is Lawrence's attempts at anger management--as engaging as the sheer visual hullabaloo of bullets and explosions. The plot is recycled nonsense about drug lords and dead bodies being used to smuggle drugs, but orchestration of violence is symphonic. If that's your thing, then this is for you. --Bret Fetzer
Bad Boys II (Widescreen Edition) Reviews:
Bad Boys II
2009-12-18 - The boys are back in a bigger, longer, louder and doing it again. With better effects, more violence and a touch of sexiness with the addition of a very talented actress Gabrielle Union. It is worth seeing this movie.
and it's still good
2009-11-23 - I initially disagreed with the critics of this movie and I still do. This movie is STILL one of the funniest movies I own. I watch it at least four times a year and it still keeps me in stitches! The fact that it has explosive action makes it that much better. This should be one of your collection. The only thing that I could maybe agree with is to put plugs in the kids' ears. But this movie is the funniest buddy cop movie I've ever seen.
Bad Movie,Bad Movie,Whatcha Gonna Do....
2009-09-01 - Most motion pictures are made to entertain or educate, and often are able to combine the two purposes.."Bad Boys 2" does neither and on a spectacularly grand scale..A long, tediously violent film,"Bad Boys 2" features long scenes of carnage and death that seem to have no purpose in the slender plotline beyond adding minutes to the running time..The dialouge, such as it is,is composed mainly of expletives(indeed, while sitting through this garbabe film at the request of a younger relative I noted that in one fifteen minute period the"F" word was uttered a whopping 27 times, mostly but not exclusively by the two lead actors, and not only under extreme circumstances but as part of the moment to moment conversation,as if any situation that required one to speak also required one to mouth foul language)..
While in a free enterprise system like ours the individual is able to take his/her money and spend it in any legal way I cannot help but lament the fact that the multi-millions wasted on this trash could have been better spent feeding the hungry,if only for one day,or helping a few poor desperately ill children, rather than to be squandered on this monument to pointlessness.
Some people were apparently entertained by this film..I would imagine, given the almost continual doses of violence and bloodshed that punctuate this flic, that these are the same sort of people who once were entertained by the christians being devoured by the lions,or the gladiators murdering each other in the arena...
What a rotten, useless, waste this film is.
Dinosaurs that fly
2009-05-19 - Another small film that is only entertaining and silly like a French cow with five legs. I must be scratching the bottom of the barrel or scraping the dust in an empty drawer. Speaking of drawers, you may lose yours if you watch too many of these films. Stunts and stunts again, and in between more stunts and so many nice houses that are blown up just like fancy models made of matchboxes and toothpicks. But it is funny because it never ends and they are cops. They disturb more collateral peace than any real war would do. But it is funny and definitely not too tiring for the mind, the brain, or what you may be using in the place of that in order to think about straight, crutches for example. Enjoy it and think you retired about twenty five years ago.

Great Action flick, but poor research.
2009-05-01 - Naturally this movie has all the makings of a great action movie. There is little doubt that it fulfills those expectations. I just wish Hollywood would do some research instead of assuming that all Hispanics are Mexican. And by that I mean the comment the Russian makes upon finding his partner in a tortilla bin. He states, "It must be a Cuban tradition to use a tortilla bin." There are probably more tortilla bins in Russia then there are in Cuba. Cubans, like most Latin American countries, do not eat Mexican cuisine, and do not use Tortillas, or tacos, or quesadillas, or any of that in their food. Hollywood being ignorant and in southern California made a rediculous mistake with that one. Only a few of Latin American countries make tortillas, and Cuba isn't one of them. They made the same mistake when they had the guards playing soccer. Sure some Cubans do play soccer, but baseball is their main sport, and you would be more likely to find guards in America playing soccer, because even though the sport isn't highly regarding in America, it is still far more popular than it is in Cuba. Amatuerish mistakes on the film maker's part, which demontrate his ignorance of life outside his own borders.
