A definite Must See 
2009-04-25 - This film debuts or is an early example of the work of many successful actors of today. I saw the film first when i was a teenager and was myself in a precarious home situation. It's a look at life on the streets for young people. The casting director nailed each part, and obviously had an eye for talent, as mentioned earlier, everyone has not only "made it" but made it big. If you're a fan of any of these actors, or just want to see an awesome flick, this one's a keeper. I paid a pretty penny to buy my own copy since it is out of print. If you find it at a reasonable price, I'd snatch it up.
Superb, Accurate Movie
2009-03-13 - One of the best movies I've ever seen. As someone who was once homeless on the same mean L.A. streets depicted, I can tell you that this story comes as close to reality as any on the subject. What's interesting is that despite the presence of almost twenty stars and soon-to-be stars in this movie (some quite big, like Will Smith, Alyssa Milano, and Ricki Lake, ), almost all of them go out of their way to avoid discussing it. The movie also saw a very limited release despite its relevance and quality. The conspiracy buzz was that the studio, indeed the industry establishment, felt the truthful depiction hit too close to home, and backtracked to not damage the "Hollywood Mythololgy" that keeps the Greyhound buses filled with new talent and new victims coming, and that keeps theater seats filled. But it is still top notch, and a must-see. And you'll enjoy seeing many of today's biggest stars when they were still small.

2007-09-30 - This movie was released when I was a teen myself and I have a copy of it now. It is one of the few movies I carry with me for life. It is amazing. You almost feel like you are one the characters.
I identified with the starvation, drug addiction, and normal rejection that every teenager goes through, homeless or not.
Don't miss it.
Awesome Movie~
2007-01-21 - I watched this movie 11 years ago and loved it-all of high school friends at the time watched it over and over with me-my best and I still drop lines from this movie to this day-it is awesome and so undiscovered. I am ordering it on dvd now because I am sick of seeing my dusty vhs copy! I wish some of these actors would be questioned about this movie from their past-it is quite a rare find. The music is actually 90% Melissa Etheridge-very haunting songs-"sleep while I drive" is my favorite-if you are questioning yourself on whether to get....DO IT! You will not regret a single moment.
An eye opener for teens. 
2007-01-03 - This movie made so much of an impression on my older daughter a few years ago that she wanted our youngest to see it. Teens who have the impression that a big city and freedom from parents, school, etc. is an easy path to happiness and success are shown the harsh reality of life on the street.
