Description of Miss Congeniality 2 - Armed and Fabulous (Widescreen Edition with Soundtrack CD):
F.B.I. operative Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) famously went undercover in a beauty pageant a while back, and now she's supposedly so recognizable that her only use to the agency is as a pretty public representative. Dumped by her boyfriend (whom Benjamin Bratt wisely decided not to portray this time around), a gloomy Gracie goes along with the promo biz until her friend, Miss United States (Heather Burns), is kidnapped along with pageant official Stan Fields (William Shatner) in Las Vegas. Bullock still has perk to please her fans, but neither she nor her awkward alter-ego has any purpose in a sequel to a movie released five years prior. The result is a desperately unfunny, feature-length commercial for Las Vegas tourism, with outdated homosexual stereotypes (Diedrich Bader, as Gracie's stylist) and the usually terrific Regina King (of Ray and Jerry Maguire fame) stuck in a glum role as Bullock's butch bodyguard. Armed? Yes. Fabulous? No. --Steve Wiecking
Miss Congeniality 2 - Armed and Fabulous (Widescreen Edition with Soundtrack CD) Reviews:
No, no no!!
2009-12-09 - I was in Mexico and it was either see this in theaters or see a movie in Spanish. I should have seen a movie in Spanish.
armed and women in black
2009-10-02 - Sandra Bullock does a good job of being a down and out
FBI agent who becomes a TV shill for the FBI.
With a ghosted book, a personal trainer, a make up team
and a body guard
she goes to Los Vegas when her friend Miss America
is kidnapped. How she solves the mystery of the crime
while being thwarted by the agent in charge
and becomes friends and partner with an anger management
black women FBI agent is the plot of the movie.
The movie is actually pretty funny as Hollywood comedy
in the Ben Stiller era goes! Not loss of taste takes place
even in a cross dressing night club!
I enjoyed the result, but wouldn't play the movies again.
Better than the first
2009-06-02 - Maybe it's because I'm a rebel but I loved this movie. I thought it was hilarious. Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses and Regina King is amazing as well, they just work so well together. Their partnership and how they manage to become partners is what makes this movie a winner. You could tell they just had fun with this. Great movie in my opinion.
such a cute movie
2009-04-06 - I love this movie, it didnt get a lot of press but I can watch it over and over again.
Disappointing sequel that does not live up to the original
2009-03-14 - Miss Congeniality 2 is billed as a comedy, but I doubt if I laughed more than two or three time through the whole movie. The screen play is weak and the characters are either flat and boring or depressing. On a relative scale if we rate the original Miss Congeniality as a ten then the sequel doesn't deserve better than a four.
The class that Michael Caine brought to the original is completely missing in the sequel. Neither Enrique Murciano or William Shatner come close to Michael Caine.
The box office results are also revealing. The original made well over two hundred million worldwide, but the sequel barely broke one hundred million worldwide.
In conclusion a dull and lifeless movie. Unless you are a diehard Sandra Bullock fan or simply must see every sequel skip this movie and save your money.
