Morgan Freeman (born June 1, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an Academy Award-winning African American actor and film director who first became known through roles on 'Another World' and the 'The Electric Company.' He has gone on to roles in films such as 'Driving Miss Daisy,' 'The Shawshank Redemption,' 'Lean on Me' and as Dr. Alex Cross in two films - 'Kiss the Girls' and 'Along Came a Spider.'
